5/19/19 Fishing Report
Last few days have been a little rocky but this is still the best stretch of weather we have had all spring, hopefully that continues for a while…
Fishing has been very good lately and it sounds like you can catch fish about any way you prefer right now. The jig bite is still going some, the crawler bite is picking up nice and the trollers are doing great. Expect all that to continue with the current weather pattern.
Reports still coming from several areas, ranging from out front, to North of the Island. They are pulling some good fish and most have been doing great but some have struggled.
Bandits and Bay Rats 20 to 70 feet back at 1.6 to 2.5mph seems to be the most common programs, but have heard some as high as 2.8 to 3 already. Still seems to be a variety of colors with Orange Crush, Huff and Puff, Carrot top, , and Frozen, mentioned the most. Look for the mud lines and work the edge of them, seems like they are always a good place to try.
Last Reports were good coming in for jigging and crawler harnesses as well, right out front, Crane, Locust and Round Reefs mentioned the most . Jig bites have been reported from several reefs and the flats between them. Variety of colors mentioned. Things are looking good. Hair jigs, and Captain Jays blades as well as crawler rigs are all still good choices with the water temps still slowly on the rise.
Few reports from A and B cans.
Few Reports from local creeks, sounds like they have picked up some with this stable weather, but still not a bunch of info… Need some first hand intel folks...
Congrats to Jordan on a great batch of Crappie, quite the catch….
