5/17/19 Fishing Reports
Mother Nature cut us a break, the storms last night pushed South of us....
Weather forecast looking good through the weekend….
Last few days have been the best stretch we have had all spring, hopefully that continues for a while…
Fish are still here and folks are pulling fish. Sounds like you can catch fish about any way you prefer right now. The jig bite is still going some, the crawler bite is picking up and the trollers are doing great. Expect all that to continue through the weekend.
Reports still coming from North of Locust across towards Niagara reef, and from K Can, towards L Can. And Niagara across the north side of Big Pick, and just about everywhere else has been mentioned. They are pulling some nice fish
Bandits and Bay Rats 20 to 70 feet back at 2 to 2.5mph seems to be the most common programs, but have heard some as high as 2.8 to 3 already. Still seems to be a variety of colors with Orange Crush, Reflection, Carrot top, , and Frozen, mentioned the most, lately we have started hearing Fruity Veggies. Look for the mud lines and work the edge of them, seems like they are always a good place to try.
Last Reports were good coming in for jigging and crawler harnesses as well right out front. Jig bites have been reported from just about any reef with Round, Toussaint and Crane Reef mentioned the most, and sounds like the bite on Locust Reef is still hanging on as well. Variety of colors mentioned. Things are looking good. Hair jigs, and Captain Jays blades as well as crawler rigs with the water temps still slowly on the rise.
Few reports from A and B cans.
Few Reports from local creeks, sounds like they have picked up some with this stable weather, but still not a bunch of info… Need some first hand intel folks...
Congrats to Capt Nate and crew on the Walleye Wizard for another great catch….
