5/13/19 Fishing Report
Weather forecast looks as though we may catch a break here for the next week or so.
Yesterday was nasty with cold and crazy winds, things are still mudded up but that is nothing new this year. The ones that did venture out reported getting fish but said it was miserable out there…
Fish are still here and when guys get out they are pulling fish. We expect the fish to still be cooperative once things settle down. Sounds like you should be able to catch fish doing it about any way you prefer. The jig bite was still going some, the crawler bite is picking up and the trollers were doing good. Expect all that to be the same here once things settle down and start to clear again.
Last Reports were from North of Locust across towards Niagara reef, and from K Can, towards L Can. And Niagara across the north side of Big Pick. Some reports even coming in on Jets and spoons already. They are pulling some nice fish
Bandits and Bay Rats 20 to 70 feet back at 1.8 to 2.6mph seems to be the most common programs. Still seems to be a variety of colors with Orange Crush, and Huff N Puff, and Frozen, mentioned the most. Look for the mud lines and work the edge of them, seems like they are always a good place to try.
Last Reports were good coming in for jigging and crawler harnesses as well right out front. Jig bites have been reported from just about any reef with Turtle and Crane Reef mentioned the most, and sounds like there is Still a good bite on Locust Reef as well. Variety of colors mentioned. Things are looking good. Hair jigs, and Captain Jays blades continue to be the go too baits, but the crawler bite is starting to pick up with the water temps on the rise.
No new reports.
Few Reports from local creeks, but not much info.
