4/17/19 Fishing Report
The recent Northeast Winds have made things pretty much a muddy mess. Fish are here and life goes on, but they are not easy to get with these conditions. Expect things to improve as conditions improve once mother nature looses her attitude…..
Pretty much same story line. Tough bite right now, South of the can line across the north side of the reef complex has been very good. had some good reports from Cone and Crib areas as well. Reports continue to be a lot of fish stacked around Cone reef and Toussaint reef
Bandits 35 to 75 feet back at 1.6 to 2.0mph seems to be the range we are hearing the most about. Also some reports of P 10’s on a 30/30 program. Still seems to be a variety of colors with Metallic colors in the cleaner water and dark colors in the muddy water, no particular colors have been out fishing others and setting the pace.
Reports have been tough for jigging as well and it sounds like that continued, if you can keep your drift speed down and keep it in their face longer it will up your odds. Crib, Cone Toussainte, Locust and Little Pick are getting the most attention, fish were on all of them again yesterday.. Hair jigs, and Captain Jays Blades seem to be the ticket now and both are working great.
No new reports to speak of, last reports were from Crane reef, not fast but pulled some fish also a couple reports from south of B Can
A few Reports from local creeks, sounds like they are still a bit slow but picking up.
