Lake is mudded up pretty good, winds have shifted to west and water levels dropped as fast as they rose. Fish are here and fishing prior to this blow was great. Time will tell what we are going to see in the next few days. Was game on out front, with Quick one to two hour limits of fish. Most are smaller Jacks now and average is 17 with some 20~ 3o” mixed in here and there, Females are mostly post spawn and have left the beds. West winds are forecast today, and we will see what we find out once we get some reports.
Trollers: Better Reports still from Cone Reef and North side of Reef areas. Pulling Bandits and DHJ12s at 1.2 ~ 1.8 35~50 foot back off the north sides of the reefs. Pulling a lot of chrome or metallic baits on short leads up in the sun in afternoon sun.
Drifters: Excellent Reports from most reefs, and right out front before the blow. Focus was on 8 ~ 14 FOW. Pulling fish on hair jigs as well as blade baits off sides of reefs, L Can Flat, Crane Creek, and K Can. (Slow is still key) and many say they are pumping the jig or blade more so than snapping them. Most of the females are done and the smaller males are left on the beds, but they are there in big numbers.
No recent Reports, but some have pulled nice Perch mixed in with the Walleye. I would try any of the normal Perch spots once things shake out. Had some good reports from the Islands before the blow
Been getting crazy water level changes due to this last blow and seems to have everything slowed down….
